- Story Text: Heads of state from six southeast European countries met in the Slovenian coastal town of Portoroz on Monday (June 1) to discuss regional cooperation and economic development.
The meeting was organised as part of a business summit gathering more than 100 of the biggest companies and businessmen from the entire region.
Hosted by President of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, the event was attended by Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, President of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mladen Ivanic, President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanovic, President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, and President of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov.
They all walked through the historic town of Piran before attending a series of bilateral meetings at nearby Portoroz.
"Although we have our differences, they are no longer hidden, we can discuss them openly, because we have built up enough trust among ourselves to solve these problems. That thought is what I'd like to conclude with, and I would like to invite the business community of southeast Europe to continue with your business activities without any hesitation. And for our part, and especially this year - which is a turning point, for several reasons - we will do our best to stop political obstacles from interfering with your business ambitions," Pahor told the audience following a panel discussion on the strengthening of stability and building a more business-friendly environment in the region. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
