- Story Text: Germany's Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere continued to host a meeting with his French, Spanish, Italian, Polish and British counterparts on Tuesday (June 2) to discuss "the fight against organised crime, migrants and the fight against Islamic terrorism" as part of the G6.
The ministers were joined by U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch and U.S. Deputy Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for discussion which were expected to focus on "the fight against organised crime, migrants and the fight against Islamic terrorism."
De Maiziere received his counterparts at the picturesque castle of Moritzburg north of the eastern city of Dresden where Germany's interior minister was scheduled to hold a closing news conference later in the day.
While the host and his guests posed for cameras under sunny skies, two women protesters in a small rubber dinghy were seen on the pond surrounding the castle holding up a "push back Frontex" placard, referring to Europe's border control agency.
As the protesters tried to get the ministers' attention by screaming at the top of their lungs, two policemen on a motorised rubber dinghy pulled them away from cameras and earshot. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
