  • Story Text: European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker will meet Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras in Brussels on Wednesday evening (June 3) but the EU executive does not expect a deal immediately after the meeting.
    EU Commission President Juncker has invited Prime Minister Tsipras to discuss the state of play in the negotiations between Greece and its international partners, the Commission said.
    "Intensive work continues at all levels towards an agreement to successively conclude the current adjustment program. We do not expect any final outcome tonight. This is a first discussion, not a concluding one," EU Commission spokesman Margaritis Schinas told a regular briefing.
    "This is an important moment. We have to set the conditions that would allow the Eurogroup to come to a final discussion," he added.
    The meeting is set to start at 2030 CET (1830 GMT).
