- Story Text: Jubiliant Barcelona supporters and dejected Juve fans spilled out of Berlin's Olympic Stadium on Saturday evening (June 6) after a superb Champions League final.
Barcelona were crowned kings of Europe for the fifth time after beating Juventus 3-1, capping their magnificent season with a treble of titles.
"For me the game was spectacular. For one moment Juventus was dominating, but then they did not get the triumph," Barcelona fan Octavio Belarria said, sporting a Barca shirt and draped in the team's scarf.
Goals from Ivan Rakitic in the fourth minute, Luis Suarez in the 68th and Brazilian Neymar at the end of stoppage time sealed the Catalans' second treble, following their feat in 2009, after they also won the La Liga title and Spanish King's Cup.
"I really enjoyed the match, especially the second half when the match was more intense, more balanced between the two sides," fellow Barca supporter Luis Jiminez said, adding: "It was a beautiful game."
Ecstastic fan Alessandro Russo was overjoyed by a stellar performance from Lionel Messi, who helped set up the most crucial goal of Uruguayan Luis Suarez's career.
"The match was great, Messi is spectacular and fabulous. Plus one title for us, viva Barca!" Russo cheered.
It was the Italians who had the bitter taste, though, as Juve, who became the first team in the history of the competition to lose six finals in total, having also now been defeated in their last four.
Though disappointed, fans outside the stadium in Berlin said they were still pleased with the team's performance.
"I am proud of Juve, it's pure pride. Barcelona were stronger, but Juve sustained its efforts until the end, so I am content," fan Antonio Bassano said.
Fellow fan Joseph Ducre went even further: "It is the best game I have ever seen in my life," he said.
Juventus, the second oldest team in a European final with an average age of just over 30, fought bravely but ran out of steam as Neymar scored with the last kick in stoppage time.
That goal took the tally for Barca's Latin American trio of Argentine Messi, Uruguayan Suarez and Brazilian Neymar, known in Spain as 'MSN', to a stunning 122 this term in all competitions. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
