- Story Text: U.S. Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL, General John Allen, visited Pristina to meet Kosovo's top officials on Thursday (June 4).
Allen met Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga and Prime Minister Isa Mustafa during his visit but declined to talk to media.
Security officials say more than 200 people from Kosovo have gone to fight in Syria and Iraq, stirring fears of the threat they might pose when they come home.
More than 30 are believed to have been killed.
The majority of Kosovo's 1.8 million people are nominally Muslim but overwhelmingly secular.
Last month Kosovo indicted 32 people for fighting alongside Islamist insurgents in Syria and Iraq and recruiting others from the impoverished Balkan country to fight.
During his visit to the region Allen is also scheduled to travel to Montenegro and Bosnia. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
