- Story Text: India's cricket team held a practice session in Dhaka on Monday (June 8) in preparation for a four-match series in Bangladesh beginning on Wednesday (June 10) with a one-off test match.
The team is being led by temporary coach Ravi Shastri, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) continue to deliberate over a permanent replacement for Duncan Fletcher.
The 53-year-old former test captain will be supported by assistant coaches Sanjay Bangar (batting), Bharat Arun (bowling) and Ramakrishnan Sridhar (fielding) for the three one-day internationals and one-off test match.
All three retain the roles they held under Zimbabwean Fletcher, whose term as coach came to an end at the conclusion of the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand earlier this year.
Virat Kohli will captain the side in Fatullah for the test, which will be the first between the sides since January 2010.
A limited-over international series against India is considered a money-spinner and accordingly all three matches, to be held in Mirpur, have been allotted a reserve day due to the threat of monsoon rains.
Sureh Raina led India to victory in Bangladesh last June during a three-match ODI series, which saw the third contest in Mirpur washed out due to heavy rain.
The teams have faced off in seven previous test matches with India winning six and the other contest ending in a rain-affected draw.
After the Bangladesh trip, India travel to Africa to play three one-day internationals against Zimbabwe in July.
