- Story Text: Chilean President Michelle Bachelet was welcomed to Paris on Monday (June 8) at the start of an official visit which will focus on economic, educational and scientific cooperation.
She is later expected to meet French President Francois Hollande -- freshly returned from the G7 summit in Germany -- for a dinner at the Elysee presidential palace where the pair will discuss bilateral relations.
Bachelet was met by Health Minister Marisol Touraine at the Invalides national monument where she was given a tour which took in the tomb of French Emperor Napoleon.
