- Story Text: Germany's were back on the training pitch on Tuesday (June 9) to prepare for their friendly against the United States on Wednesday (June 10).
Under the watchful eye of coach Joachim Loew, the world champions honed their skills at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne, which hosted five games during the 2006 World Cup.
Wednesday's match in Cologne will be Germany's third clash against U.S. and former Germany coach Juergen Klinsmann's team in the last three years.
The United States beat Germany 4-3 in a friendly in 2013, while Germany won their World Cup group match 1-0 last year en route to winning the tournament in Brazil.
Among the squad was Sami Khedira who has just signed for Juventus from Real Madrid on a free transfer.
At a news conference earlier in the day, Loew praised an improving U.S. team as a force to be reckoned with. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
