- Story Text: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) starts the second day of his executive board meeting on Monday (June 8) in Lausanne, followed on Tuesday by a meeting for the 2022 Winter Olympic bid cities.
Olympic leaders gathered for a two-day meeting at the IOC headquarters to discuss the implementation of the 2020 Olympic Agenda 2020. They are scheduled to receive reports from various IOC commissions, as well as updates on the activities of the IOC administration and preparations for the forthcoming Olympic Games.
The preparations for the next three Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Pyeongchang, South Korea and Tokyo are also up for discussion.
The first session opened on Sunday (June 7) and was followed by a press conference where the IOC announced the suspension of its recognition of SportAccord, whose president Marius Vizer resigned last month after sparking a row over the control of international sports federations.
IOC Director of Communication, Mark Adams also confirmed there had been discussion of the FIFA crisis, but there were "no recommendations".
On Tuesday (June 9), less than two months before the final vote in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia IOC members will gather at the Olympic Museum to hear technical presentations from the two bid cities for the 2022 Winter Olympics - Almaty, Kazakhstan, and Beijing. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
