- Story Text: The 18th Shanghai International Film Festival kicked off on Saturday (June 13) with Mike Tyson, Jackie Chan and Aaron Kwok walking the red carpet at the opening ceremony.
During the week-long annual festival, over 1,200 contemporary and classic films from around the world, including "The Theory of Everything", "Whiplash". "A Most Violent Year", "Foxcatcher" and "Revivre" will be screened at local cinemas in the Chinese city.
Russian director Andrei Zvyagintsev, who is famous for his controversial Oscar-nominated film "Leviathan", was selected as president of the Golden Goblet jury for the festival this year.
The visiting celebrities will also participate in a range of film industry activities during the festival which is scheduled to last through to June 21. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
