- Story Text: Miley Cyrus, whose nude appearance in the music video for her hit song "Wrecking Ball" made waves in 2013, is back in the buff, this time for Paper Magazine's summer 2015 issue.
Cyrus graces the cover of Paper wearing nothing but mud and strategically covering her body by hugging a pig. The corresponding photographs inside the magazine, shot by Paola Kudacki and designed by creative director Diane Martel, show the former "Hannah Montana" star fully nude and wearing body paint.
It isn't all for show, according to Cyrus, who says that she decided to pose nude to support the Happy Hippy Foundation, a philanthropic endeavor that she founded to help raise funds and awareness for homeless and LGBT youth. Cyrus cites the suicide of Leelah Alcorn, a transgender teen who committed suicide in December after being forced to undergo "conversion therapy" by her parents.
"We can't keep noticing these kids too late," she says, in the article for Paper, written by Amanda Petrusich.
Cyrus also discusses her own same-sex attractions, recalling to her mother at age 14 that she felt romantic feelings towards other females.
"I remember telling her I admire women in a different way. And she asked me what that meant. And I said, I love them. I love them like I love boys," says Cyrus, adding: "And it was so hard for her to understand. She didn't want me to be judged and she didn't want me to go to hell. But she believes in me more than she believes in any god. I just asked for her to accept me. And she has."
Paper Magazine is an independent publication issuing six issues per year. The Miley Cyrus cover comes behind the much-talked-about spread in Paper's winter issue, which made waves featuring a nude Kim Kardashian displaying her oiled backside on its cover. - Copyright Holder: POOL (CAN SELL)
