- Story Text: Agricultural tractors roared through a field outside Russia's southern city of Rostov-on-Don in the annual Bison Track Show 2015 race.
All the race participants were driving various modifications of the Belarus tractor - one of the most popular in the post-Soviet republics.
Participants had to perform various tasks, from driving through a huge puddle of muddy water to racing through a burning wooden gate.
One driver from Russia's southern Rostov region, Pyotr Vydrenko, said that early advantage was something to aim for.
"What can I say, everything depends on the tractor, victory depends on it. The most important thing is to be the first to break through," Vydrenko said.
Competitor Alexander Maliar covered 1500 kilometers on his tractor, driving from Yekaterinburg in Russia's Urals to Rostov-on-Don to take part in the race. He said he did not make any modification to his vehicle before the tournament.
"No, we have made no changes (to the tractor), we just want to participate (in the race). I do not think that speed is essential here, the most important thing is to think, so speed is not the main thing," Maliar said.
The 13th annual tractor race was won by a driver from Rostov region. He was awarded a motorbike and for the company he represented: a brand new Belarus tractor, of course. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
