- Story Text: Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu met with his Romanian counterpart Bogdan Aurescu in Bucharest on Wednesday (June 10) to discuss trade and cooperation between the two countries within the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.
Romania hopes to engage in gas and energy projects with Turkey, Romania's largest commercial partner outside the European Union, and fifth on the global level.
"We have discussed gas transport projects, but also a project regarding interconnecting of electrical energy networks between Romania and Turkey. We hope to see progress in this project very soon," Aurescu said after meeting Cavusoglu.
Romania will take over presidency of the Black Sea Economical Cooperation Organization starting July 1, 2015 and the officials discussed its agenda for that period.
"We support and welcome the priorities that Romania designated for their presidency because they set the realities and priorities of this region as their priorities during their presidency," Cavusoglu said.
This is Cavusoglu's first visit to Romania since he took office last year. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
