- Story Text: Amid growing signs that Greece could be heading for a default, leaders of the four main EU institutions met on Tuesday (June 16) to discuss the situation.
EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker invited EU Parliament President Martin Schulz, EU Council President Donald Tusk and Eurogroup chairman Jeroen Dijsselbloem for a working lunch to discuss the situation in Greece.
Last-ditch negotiations with Athens on a cash-for-reforms deal to unlock frozen aid collapsed on Sunday after Greece's leftist government rejected any cuts to pensions and wages or increases in tax on basic goods.
Asked if time was running out for an agreement, Eurogroup chairman Jeroen Dijsselbloem said: "Time is certainly getting very very short." - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
