This match will be very important for the Olympique Marseille too. Both the teams share the same objectives, so on this occasion what makes the difference will be the details. - Story Text: AC Milan has the edge is Group C as the race for places in the next stage of the Champions League heats up.
The Italian giants host Olympique de Marseille at the San Siro on Wednesday (November 25) with victory guaranteeing them a place in the last 16.
AC Milan coach Leonardo is in a confident mood and told reporters on Tuesday (November 24) nothing but a win will do.
"The match that we played in September gave us a lot of things, especially it made us fell more secure," he said.
"I want to repeat that every time that a match like this one is going to be played, we have to start from the beginning and we have to be concerned on our aims. And our aims are always the same."
But Leonardo was wary of Marseille and what was at stake for the visitors.
"Both the teams share the same objectives, so on this occasion what makes the difference will be the details. The very little things will determine the final result."
Leonardo added he would not settle for a draw.
"It depends on (Clarence) Seedorf. He is the balance of our squad. This is a very important thing. I do not know if the match will be spectacular, but it will be interesting for sure because we think just to play and not to defend."
Olympique de Marseille must win in order to keep alive their hopes of advancing to the last 16.
"Maybe that Milan AC have lost part of their power which they had showed off in the previous encouter," Olympique de Marseille coach Didier Deschamps said.
"But they got more from the attack, so I would say that the attack becomes very interesting. They play very fast with the ball on the pitch. For sure the technical quality of (AC Milan's) four forwards is one of the most precious at the European level."
The French World Cup qualification continues to be a thorny question for Deschamps.
"Being the opponent and playing outside, I do not know if there will be people among the Italian supportes who will link the two episodes (the Champions League match and the French qualification to the World Cup against Ireland). As far as I know, Henry's hand was simply a question of the game," he said. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
