- Story Text: The clean-up at the venue begins in Sydney as concert-goers head home after rocking out in the Live Earth.
The cleanup began on Saturday (July 7) as Sydneysiders headed home after spending the day at the first world-wide Live Earth concert.
As night fell, the concert's headline band, Crowded House, thrilled the cheering 42,000 strong crowd with classic rock ballads.
The concert was deemed a success by the organisers and concert-goers, with a nearly full capacity stadium, sunny weather and a well-behaved crowd.
"The singers were just really good as well, just, the whole day was really good," said one girl as she left the concert.
And many believed they had helped with the concert's aim in raising awareness for climate change.
"It's good to see the message is getting spread, the carbon neutral activity," said one man who went to the concert.
After the last concert-goers had left he stadium, organisers then had the large task of cleaning up the rubbish left behind.
Following the Live Aid and Live 8 mega-gigs, Live Earth hopes to reach up to two billion people through radio, television and the internet, and features acts including
Madonna and Red Hot Chili Peppers at several concerts around the world. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
