I was very grateful that I was able to make seven of those, I guess seven is my lucky number. Sadly, I had to retire because the girls just got too young or I was getting to old. It was rather disgusting, kind of like love in the afternoon. There is nothing wrong with that." - Story Text: "007" Roger Moore gets his star in Hollywood.
Roger Moore, the actor who held the "007's" license to kill from 1973 to 1985, was honored on Thursday (October 11, 2007) with a star on the Hollywood "Walk of Fame."
The 79-year-old actor, who starred as James Bond in seven films, said he was very grateful for the role of "007."
"But, there again the Hollywood moguls in all their wisdom, kissed me goodbye and I went back to Europe, where I managed to get a job playing seven years in "The Saint," explained Moore. "I got to work with Tony Curtis playing in "The Pursaders." And then they decided that I would replace Sean Connery as Bond. Moore, initially came to Hollywood in 1953, where his good looks landed him several supporting roles opposite the day's leading ladies.
