- Story Text: After winning the prestigious Academy Awards, Martin Scorsese, Al Gore, and Cinderella story Jennifer Hudson hit the Governors Ball in Hollywood.
At the ball, the menu created by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck, featured organic and environmentally-friendly food, including the large chocolate Oscar.
Carrying his Oscar into the party, Babel composer Gustavo Santaolalla looked happy, while best original song winner Melissa Etheridge chatted with guests.
Babel director Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu was in good company with the likes of Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas standing just feet away.
At the Vanity Fair party, A-list celebrities walked the red carpet expressing their support for their favourite winners of the evening.
Wearing a dark strappy Dolce and Gabanna gown, Madonna told Reuters Al Gore had her vote all along.
"It's the most important movie ever made," the Queen of Pop said.
British pop star turned designer Victoria Beckham hit the carpet sans football superstar husband David. The former Spice Girl was wearing a visible accessory, however, a tattoo of an ancient Hebrew proverb.
Friends Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise weren't far behind. Ever the gentleman, Mr. Cruise stepped away to let his wife take the spotlight.
Oscar hostess Ellen DeGeneres said she had got over her nervous pang and thought the night had been a success.
"I don't know how I did yet, I was scared and excited and lots and lots of energy. But I think I did well, I'm feeling good about it."
Looking glamorous in a jewel encrusted gown, Beyonce said she was proud of "Dreamgirls" castmate, Jennifer Hudson.
"When I saw Jennifer (Hudson) win I was so moved and it just brought tears to my eyes and everyone's eyes," Beyonce said.
And Beyonce wasn't the only one. Eve said Hudson brought her to tears when she took the stage to accept her award.
"Congratulations Jennifer Hudson god bless you. I'm so happy she made me cry tonight. Amazing," said Eve.
For supermodel Naomi Campbell it was Forest Whitaker's speech that moved her. As the night moves on glamorous stars keep on rolling in. From beauties Naomi Watts and Rachel Weisz to hunky 007 star Daniel Craig, the heat on this carpet continues to turn up. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
