- Story Text:Tyson Fury's trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder on July 24 has been postponed after the world heavyweight champion, and members of his entourage, tested positive for coronavirus, according to media reports.
Multiple media outlets in both the UK and the United States said the fight would be rescheduled for October, with a a formal announcement from promoters Top Rank expected on Friday (July 9). The BBC quoted a source close to Fury as saying the 32-year-old was 'deeply frustrated', adding Fury had tested positive on Thursday (July 8).
Fury was meant to meet Wilder in Las Vegas later this month having beaten and drawn with the American in two previous fights. Fury climbed off the canvas in a dramatic 12th round in December 2018 to draw with Wilder, although many boxing experts made him the winner.
In February last year, Fury stopped Wilder in the seventh round to win the WBC heavyweight title. Fellow Briton Anthony Joshua holds the other three major world titles.
