- Story Text: Bolivia's folklore dance parade returned to the streets of El Alto and La Paz on Friday (July 16) with face masks as this year's must-have item among the colourful costumes.
This parade is in honour of the Virgin of El Carmen, and it is the event's first return since being cancelled at the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
With the pandemic still raging on in Bolivia, dancers had to comply with anti-COVID measures before they could perform. Parade participants had to prove they were vaccinated and show proof of a negative COVID-19 test to take part in the show.
