- Story Text:Moscow city residents welcomed the easing of COVID-19 restrictions such as the cancellation of QR codes requirements on Sunday (July 18).
The Moscow government decree comes into effect starting Monday (July 19), three weeks after the measure had been imposed to hold back the capital's COVID-19 infection rates by requiring restaurant, bar and club goers to show an official QR code proving vaccination, recent recovery from COVID-19 or a negative PCR test from within the past 72 hours. Outdoor terraces were not affected by the rule.
Russia reported 25,018 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, including 4,357 in Moscow, taking the official national count to 5, 958,133.
