- Story Text:Pink booth has been set up in the northern Udhampur district of India's federal Jammu and Kashmir territory to help women get inoculated without any hiccups.
With a pink booth being established at District Hospital Udhampur, women were able to keep their discomfort aside and turn up in good numbers to get the shot.
"The atmosphere over here is very comfortable. Earlier it was very unorganized but now there is a different corner for women so, we are feeling very comfortable after coming here," said Udhampur resident, Sunakshi Jabotra.
The federal government aims to inoculate all of the country's estimated 944 million adults by December, target health experts have said is ambitious, as only 8% of that number is currently vaccinated with the mandatory two doses.
Several states have reported vaccine shortages, with many inoculation centers shut and people having to wait for long hours at others for their shot.
India on Sunday (July 18) reported 41,157 new coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours, taking the nationwide tally to 31.1 million, health ministry data showed.
The number of deaths rose by 518, taking the total to 413,609, according to ministry data. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
