- Story Text: Australian filmmaker Justin Kurzel premiered his new film "Nitram" in Cannes on Friday (July 16), walking the red carpet with actor Caleb Landry Jones.
"Nitram" is one of 24 films vying for the top prize in Cannes, the Palme d'Or.
Landry Jones, who appeared in the series "Breaking Bad" and "Friday Night Lights", plays Nitram, a young man living with his mother and father in a suburban town where feels frustrated and unable to fit in.
He finds comfort in a friendship with a reclusive heiress, but a tragic event provokes deep loneliness and anger that spiral into a disaster.
Kurzel's "Macbeth" also screened in competition at Cannes in 2015.
