- Story Text:Dozens of supporters of the Cuban government gathered outside its embassy in Mexico City on Saturday (July 17) to call for an end to the U.S. blockade on the island nation.
The protesters blame a U.S. trade embargo for hurting the Cuban economy and spurring on anti-government protesters in the country.
Thousands of Cubans took to the streets on Sunday (July 11) calling for President Miguel Diaz-Canel's resignation, in a rare display of civil unrest in the Communist nation.
Cuba's president has blamed the country's unrest on the U.S., accusing it of "economic asphyxiation."
