- Story Text: China said on Tuesday (July 20) that accusations made by the United States and its allies that the Chinese government has conducted a global cyber hacking campaign are "unwarranted".
Foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said the accusations were politically motivated and the United States had not provided enough evidence.
The United States and its allies accused China on Monday (July 19) of a global cyber espionage campaign, mustering an unusually broad coalition of countries to publicly call out Beijing for hacking.
Four Chinese nationals have been charged in a global hacking campaign aimed at dozens of companies, universities and government agencies in the United States and abroad, the U.S. Justice Department said on Monday.
