- Story Text: Frederic Prinz von Anhalt fondly remembered late wife Zsa Zsa Gabor at a memorial service on Friday (December 30) in Beverly Hills.
The ailing movie actress died on December 18 of a heart attack, ending a years-long struggle with health issues.
Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, Gabor's ninth husband, spoke at the memorial service, remembering his late wife's love of the red carpet and all things glamour.
"She enjoyed the red carpet, she loved it. She loved it so much, it was only her life, her life was only red carpet, nothing else," he told the memorial service.
"Well her fans should remember the way she was very glamorous. She was glamorous always, you saw the picture with the red dress, that's how she.. you see that picture over there with her red riding jacket, you know riding horses, you know that's how people should remember my wife. You know, being a good woman, being a horse woman, she loved animals and walking the red carpet like nobody else," he added.
Gabor, the Hungarian-born star of 1950s films "Moulin Rouge" and "Lili" who turned 99 on February 6, has been confined to her home for years following the 2011 amputation of her leg and other complications.
Gabor, by most accounts, had a personality that generally outshone her acting skills. Her bubbly demeanor and looks helped land her a string of wealthy husbands. She had a penchant for calling everyone "dah-ling" in her thick Hungarian accent. Along with her two sisters, Eva and Magda, she became a fixture on Hollywood's social circuit in her prime.
