- Story Text: Hundreds attended on Tuesday (January 3) the funeral of a young Israeli woman who was among the dead in an Istanbul nightclub attack that killed at least 39 people on New Year's eve.
She was identified as Leanne Nasser, 19, from the Israeli Arab town of Tira in central Israel.
Israeli media reports said she had been at the club with three friends, one of whom was wounded in the shooting attack.
The mayor of Tira said her death "shocked the entire town".
A gunman opened fire on New Year revellers at a packed nightclub on the shores of Istanbul's Bosphorus waterway on Sunday (January 1) killing at least 39 people, including many foreigners, then fled the scene.
A massive security operation unfolded to track down the fugitive assailant or assailants and any conspirators. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
