- Story Text:Afghans continued to wait outside Kabul airport on Sunday (August 29) in the hope of finding a way out of the country as evacuation missions neared the end.
Crowds are smaller than they were before a suicide blast outside the airport earlier this week, although a number of people are continuing to gather including women and children.
Some were angry that they are not being allowed to leave Afghanistan, despite holding valid documentation while foreigners were able to leave.
"In fact, they (Americans) do not take us (with them) and only make fun of us. This is a waste of time for women, children and elders," said Rafiullah Samsor.
Taliban officials have urged Afghans not to leave, saying they are needed to help to run the country, ensuring it can prosper in the future.
The insurgents swept across Afghanistan in recent weeks, but are struggling to form a government in a country that has for years been propped up by Western aid and military spending. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
