- Story Text:The Chevrolet Bolt-EV, GM's affordable electric car received North American Car of the Year honors on Monday (January 9) during the International Auto Show in Detroit.
The Bolt added the award to the winning list after receiving Motor Trend Car of the Year and Green Car of the Year honors.
The least expensive Bolt is priced at $37,495 before a $7,500 federal tax credit, meaning it sells for $29,995, GM said.
The Bolt has a driving range of 238 miles (383 km) on a full charge, substantially more than any currently available electric vehicle at a similar price.
Global automakers will kick off 2017 by displaying a wide array of future vehicles at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. This year, luxury sedans and small sport utility vehicles will jostle for the spotlight along with electric cars and diesel-powered pickup trucks. When it comes to industry profits, the trucks and SUVs will be at center stage.
