- Story Text:Afghanistan's acting higher education minister on Sunday (September 12), expressed confidence in the resilience of Afghanistan and hoped that they would soon start the process of nation-building.
Acting Minister For Higher Education, Mawlavi Abdul Baqi Haqqani speaking at a news conference in Kabul said that the Taliban will meet the requirements of Afghanis and hoped to benefit from existing state institutions to, "rebuild Afghanistan in the future."
"We are happy that Afghanistan has more educational facilities as compared to the past, including public and private, which gives us the hope that we will, God willing, rebuild Afghanistan in the future," Haqqani said.
He said gender segregation would be enforced in universities and that protocols were being put into place so that women can continue their studies.
Earlier in the month, students started returning to university classrooms after the Taliban stormed to power and in some cases, females have been separated from their peers by curtains. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
