- Story Text: Australian Defence Minister Peter Dutton held a meeting with his South Korean counterpart Suh Wook in Seoul on Monday (September 13) after North Korea said that it carried out tests of a new long-range cruise missile over the weekend.
Dutton is visiting Seoul with Australia's foreign minister to hold meetings with their South Korean counterparts to discuss bilateral ties and improve relationships in the Indo-Pacific region, according to the Australian government.
Dutton and Suh did not mention about North Korea's missile launch during opening remarks of their meeting but emphasised the importance of regional security amid increasing threats.
The ministers of the two countries are scheduled to hold a joint news conference following the meetings later in the day.
