- Story Text: A Mumbai court rejected the bail plea of 23-year-old son of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan, on Friday (October 8), along with those of two others accused in a drugs investigation.
Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha were arrested on October 2 after police raided a ship off Mumbai and found narcotics, according to local media.
The court remanded the suspects in custody with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the federal agency that is investigating the case.
Fans gathering outside Shah Rukh Khan's Mumbai residence 'Mannat' said they prayed for Aryan Khan and hoped he would be released soon.
Many high-profile Indian actors and TV personalities have been under scrutiny by narcotics officials since last year. In September 2020, several top female actors were questioned by the NCB, though it was unclear how the investigation progressed.
Some Bollywood personalities, including actors Suneil Shetty, Hritik Roshan, and Raveena Tandon have defended Aryan Khan and criticised the media glare around his arrest. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
