- Story Text: Fans of legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan gathered outside his house and celebrated his 79th birthday on Monday (October 11).
Bachchan, a recipient of the 'Dadasaheb Phalke Award', Indian cinema's highest award, is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential actors in the history of Bollywood.
Fans turned up outside his residence 'Jalsa' in India's showbiz capital Mumbai and cheered and surrounded the superstar as he came out to meet his admirers, however, Bachchan didn't stay out for long due to COVID-19 protocols.
Bachchan was king of Indian cinema in the 1970s and 1980s and is still rage amongst cinema audiences in India.
He joined the film industry in 1969 and has done over 200 movies.
The actor suffered a near-fatal injury during the shooting of an action scene on a film set in 1982 and was critically ill for several months.
