- Story Text: On Friday (December 10) thousands of Argentines took to the streets of Buenos Aires to mark the Human Rights Day.
President Alberto Fernandez and vice president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner were joined onstage at a rally in Casa Rosada by Uruguayan and Brazilian former presidents Pepe Mujica and Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva.
One of the most addressed topics at the event was Argentina's debt negotiation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) President Fernandez said that his government "Won't negotiate anything that will compromise Argentina's growth and social development."
Meanwhile, Lula fondly recalled the early part of the century when a pink tide of leftist governments ruled South America.
"Our beloved South America lived its best period between 2001 and 2012 when we governed democratically all of South America's countries," he said.
