These guys are, we're a fraternity out here. We see each other all year and some of us have seen each other for decades out here, and it's just it's just fun to be competitive and fun to go out there and compete at the highest level and against the best. And for me to get the draw that I got I couldn't be happier." WOODS ON GREEN (SOUNDBITE) (English) TIGER WOODS SAYING: "It's hard to remember when I was excited because I hadn't played in a few years. So it's been a few seasons since I was in this position. And so I'm looking forward to getting off to and playing and trying to keep improving and getting my game better and more consistent, rounding into form and making my way to that first full week in April and getting everything ready for that." VARIOUS OF WOODS (SOUNDBITE) (English) TIGER WOODS SAYING: "With TaylorMade they're allowing me to take my time and we're going to develop my irons and make the irons and the blades that I want and that will fit my game and what I like to look, not only the playing position but also feel, and obviously the shot window that I want to hit it through." VARIOUS OF JASON DAY (SOUNDBITE) (English) TIGER WOODS TALKING ABOUT JASON DAY: "Not only has he gotten stronger, but just look at the way he's managing himself around the golf course and not making the silly mistakes, but all it takes is one mistake, costs you a tournament, one shot and he's not he's not giving up those shots. And so hence he is in more events with the chance to win come Sunday, and he's capitalizing on them." DUSTIN JOHNSON TEE OFF

- Story Text: Tiger Woods played his pro-am round at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in San Diego, California on Wednesday (January 25). Sidelined by back pain for the past 15 months, Woods is launching his official comeback at the event, which he has won seven times.
"I miss trying to beat these guys. I really do. These guys are, we're a fraternity out here. We see each other all year and some of us have seen each other for decades out here, and it's just it's just fun to be competitive and fun to go out there and compete at the highest level and against the best. And for me to get the draw that I got I couldn't be happier."
Woods will compete against other top golfers in the game, like Dustin Johnson and Jason Day, the Australian world number one who many experts say is the man to beat.
"Not only has he gotten stronger, but just look at the way he's managing himself around the golf course and not making the silly mistakes, but all it takes is one mistake, costs you a tournament, one shot and he's not he's not giving up those shots. And so hence he is in more events with the chance to win come Sunday, and he's capitalizing on them," said Woods in regard to Day.
The Farmers Insurance Open is also the first game Woods will play as a member of the TaylorMade stable after announcing that he had made the switch after years of using Nike equipment.
"With TaylorMade they're allowing me to take my time and we're going to develop my irons and make the irons and the blades that I want and that will fit my game."
Woods has not played an official money event since August 2015 and pulled out of a planned return at the first tournament of the 2016-17 season in northern California in October. He said then that his game was not ready but subsequently made his comeback at the Hero World Challenge, an unofficial PGA Tour event, in the Bahamas in December where he finished 15th in an 18-man field. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
