- Story Text: Award-winning British band Kasabian have been announced as the second headline act at this year's Reading and Leeds music festival.
Kasabian, known for hit songs "Fire", "Empire" and "Shoot the Runner", will perform at the annual summer event, which is held simultaneously in the two towns over the last weekend of August.
"It's been five years, and as a band we have come a long way since then. We're looking forward to playing tunes from the new record and bringing the mosh pit to Reading & Leeds Festival!," said the band in a statement.
Kasabian's sixth studio album is due to be released this spring.
The rockers will join previously announced headliner Muse on stage, along with Two Door Cinema Club, Major Lazer, Bastille, Fatboy Slim and Jimmy Eat World.
Reading and Leeds 2017 will take place on August 25 to 27, 2017. - Copyright Holder: FILE REUTERS (CAN SELL)
