- Story Text:Tesla Inc Chief Executive Elon Musk, who has inked a deal to buy Twitter for $44 billion, said on the red carpet at the Met Gala on Monday (May 2) that he would rid the platform of "bots and trolls."
"We have to get rid of the bots and trolls and the scams and everything because that's obviously diminishing the user experience. And we know don't want people are getting tricked out of their money and that kind of thing. So I we're definitely on the warpath so I if somebody is operating a bot and troll army then I'm definitely their enemy," he said.
Musk attended the glittering event with his mother, model Maye Musk.
Known for celebrities in over-the-top outfits, the so-called Oscars of the East Coast returned on its traditional date of the first Monday in May, just eight months after 2021's pandemic-delayed event in September.
This year's A-list guests were told to dress in "gilded glamour" for the annual fundraiser for New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The invitation-only Met Gala marks the opening of the annual fashion exhibition at the museum's Costume Institute. This year’s exhibit, "In America: An Anthology of Fashion," caps a two-part exhibition and focuses on the history of American dress.
