- Story Text: Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi interacted with top executives from German, Indian companies in Berlin on Monday (May 02).
Modi was accompanied by German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Foreign Minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar during the meeting.
"Building on our business ties.PM @narendramodi and @BundeskanzlerOlaf Scholz interact with top executives from German and Indian companies.Discuss ways to further the vigour and vitality of the Indo-German economic and commercial partnership," said the spokesperson of Indian Foreign Ministry, Arindam Bagchi in a tweet.
Modi also held talks with Scholz, earlier in the day.
"I had wide-ranging discussions with Chancellor Scholz. Today's talks covered trade, commerce, innovation, culture and people-to-people linkages. India and Germany are working together on several subjects. This partnership will benefit our entire planet," said Modi in a tweet.
Modi's visit is part of the sixth German-Indian government consultations where the war in Ukraine is expected to be the focus of discussions.
India, which for decades was supplied with arms by Russia has not denounced Ukraine's invasion and has instead increased its imports of Russian oil due to a considerable discount from Moscow. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
