- Story Text: Military vehicles and helicopters were seen on Thursday (June 2) moving near the settlement of Popasna in the Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine, south of Severodonetsk.
The settlement, which is now in Russian-held territory, was in ruins according to Reuters journalists who were able to reach it last week.
Local residents on Thursday were seen collecting humanitarian aid provided by Russia's ruling party “United Russia.â€
Also on Thursday military personnel were seen near Popasna launching a drone.
British military intelligence reported last week that the fighting intensified in the Luhansk region of Ukraine as Russia seeks to encircle cities of Severodonetsk, Lyschansk and Rubizhne.
