- Story Text: Trains on heritage railway line in India's northern hill station of Shimla are running at full capacity with tourists arriving from across the country in the region.
With coronavirus cases declining, restrictions removed and summer vacations of children in full swing, tourists have reached Shimla in huge numbers to enjoy the toy train services, scenic beauty and the pleasant weather.
"The experience was really good. We came from Kalka to Shimla. The weather is really good. We enjoyed a lot," said a tourist Vipul Bhai from India's western Gujarat state.
The train line, known affectionately as the "toy train" line, was opened in 1903 to connect Shimla, the summer capital under British colonial rule, to the north Indian plains. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
