- Story Text: Late at night and in the early hours of the morning, mourners from all over Britain make their way to London to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace.
On Tuesday (September 13), people continued to congregate outside the palace and its neighbouring parks to lay flowers and notes.
''It's quite surreal to be honest, as soon as I walked into the area it just hit me and it makes you reflect even more,'' said Casell Davies, who had made the journey from Wales.
''I just wanted to be part of this just with everyone paying their respects.''
Julie, a nurse from Kent, left her home at 3:45 GMT to make the trip to the capital to be a part of the occasion saying 'I just felt I really needed to come.''
The queen's coffin will leave Scotland for the first time since her death later on Tuesday when it is flown to London in the early evening and then driven to Buckingham Palace.
