  • Story Text: Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti laughed on Tuesday (September 13) and said he was throwing his arms down after being asked about Kylian Mbappe.
    The Paris St Germain forward has a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave the French champions in 2024, according to a media report.
    In Tuesday's news conference previewing Real Madrid's Champions League match against RB Leipzig, Spanish reporters asked Ancelotti if the French striker was still a target for the Spanish and European champions.
    “I throw down my arms,” said Ancelotti expressing his tiredness with speculation linking the player with Real Madrid.
    “I am being honest. We are excited with the attacking players we have and especially the young ones."
    Vinicius Jr was involved in a series of confrontations on the pitch during Madrid's 4-1 win over Real Mallorca on Sunday (September 11), arguing with a number of visiting players as well as coach Javier Aguirre over the number of fouls he received.
    Ancelotti and Real teammate Toni Kroos could even be seen telling Vinicius to calm down during the game and focus on playing rather than confronting opponents.
    Asked if Vinicius has to improve his focus on the pitch, Ancelotti said the Brazilian forward has substantially improved in that area.
    Vinicius, 22, is in his best run of form since joining Real four years ago, scoring in his last five matches in all competitions.
    Real are also in ruthless form heading into Wednesday’s (September 14) match with Leipzig, winning all five of their domestic fixtures to lead LaLiga as well as beating Celtic 3-0 in last week's opening Champions League Group F game.
    Leipzig suffered a humbling 4-1 home defeat by Shakhtar Donetsk last week which led to coach Domenico Tedesco being sacked the next day.
    However, they have made a flying start to life under successor Marco Rose, who oversaw a 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga on Saturday (September 10) in his first game in charge.
