- Story Text: One woman was killed in the separatist-held city of Donetsk on Thursday (September 15) when shelling hit at least three buildings.
Svetlana, a resident in one of the buildings, showed Reuters the damage to her house. She said that she was grateful no one was hurt in her home.
"I jumped because of the noise and ran out of the room. Nothing could be seen inside the house. There was dense dust. Thank God, nobody was near that place (where the shell landed). Nobody got hurt. Everybody is alive and healthy," Svetlana told Reuters.
Russian media said the Ukrainian side was responsible for the attack.
Russia calls its actions in Ukraine a "special military operation" to rid Ukraine of nationalists and protect Russian-speaking communities.
Ukraine and the West describe Russia's actions as unprovoked aggression that has caused millions to flee, killed thousands, and turned cities into rubble. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
