- Story Text:Ukrainian rescue workers pulled a boy out from the rubble of a shell-struck building in the southern port city of Mykolaiv, handout footage released on Thursday (October 13) showed.
The location of the video was verified by building characteristics which matched file imagery of the area.
Reuters was not able to independently verify the date it was filmed.
In a statement released with the video, the 12-year-old boy was trapped for more than six hours after his five-story residential building in the attack.
The boy, named only as Artem, was pulled out at 0750 local time (0450GMT) and was taken to a medical facility, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine said.
"We believe that Artem will be fine,†it added.
Mykolaiv's mayor, Oleksandr Senkevich, said in a social media post that the southern city was "massively shelled".
In the past 24 hours Russian missiles hit more than 40 settlements, while Ukraine's air force carried out 32 strikes on 25 Russian targets, Ukraine's Armed Forces General Staff said.
Moscow began apparent revenge strikes on Monday (October 10) after Russian President Vladimir Putin declared a blast on Russia's bridge to Crimea to be a terrorist attack.
