- Story Text:There are no signs so far that a leak in one leg of the Druzhba oil pipeline was caused by interference from a third party, Poland's pipeline operator said.
A spokeswoman for operator PERN said in a video statement published on Thursday (October 13) the company's technical services were working to restore the operation of the pipeline section as soon as possible.
The leak, around 70 kilometres (44 miles) west from Poland's Plock refinery, led to a reduction in Russian oil supplies to Germany via Poland, as Europe is on high alert over its energy security in the aftermath of Moscow's invasion of Ukraine which has cut supplies of gas.
Europe has been on high alert over the security of its energy infrastructure since major leaks were found last month in the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines running from Russia to Europe under the Baltic Sea. Both the West and Russia have blamed sabotage.
