- Story Text:The city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine came under heavy shelling again on Tuesday (December 6), with several people injured and buildings destroyed.
There were no reports of casualties as a result of Tuesday's shelling in Donetsk, but local media said at least one person had been killed in neighbouring Makiivka.
It comes a day after the authorities in the Russian-controlled city said four civilians had been killed and three wounded in the area on Monday.
Donetsk resident Lyudmila, who did not give her last name, said it was a miracle that her daughter survived when a projectile struck their flat.
"She started to shout (and) the neighbours came: they dragged her out through the window," Lyudmila told Reuters.
Local investigators, who could be seen inspecting the aftermath of the attack, said they had collected fragments of what they believed were fragments of a projectile launched from a BM-21 multiple rocket launcher.
Both Russian and Ukrainian forces widely use this Soviet-era weapon and accuse each other of deliberately targeting civilians and non-military facilities. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
