"I was the victim of a lie. Unfortunately, the attack came from a family member who, sadly, is struggling with mental problems. I only wish them the best and that they find the light. Lies cause a lot of damage, they caused a lot of damage to me, to my children, and to my husband, my parents, to all of my family," said Martin. "Today, I'm going to heal because I am very hurt. I'm going to find calm and the silence necessary in order to see the light at the end of the road, as I have always done," added Martin. Judge Raiza Cajigas on July 2 issued the order after the man filed a domestic violence complaint in which he said he feared for his safety because Martin refused to accept his decision to end a seven-month romantic relationship. Martin, who rose to fame in the 1990s with hits like "Livin' La Vida Loca," wrote on Twitter on July 3 that the order had been obtained under "completely false allegations."
