- Story Text: Celebrities from television, film, and online turned out in Santa Monica's Barker Hangar on Tuesday (December 6) for the People's Choice Awards.
Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds was set to be given one of the Icon awards of the evening, to be presented by his 'Free Guy' co-star Lil Rey Howery.
Howery told Reuters on the purple carpet, "I'll tell you something really cool about him. He remembers everybody's name on the set. We're not just talking about the cast, we're talking about grips, lights, and catering. He knows everybody's name and I thought that was insane."
The other icon honored was Shania Twain, who turned out in a leopard skin hood.
She told Reuters "I feel kind of giddy, to be honest, you know. I feel honored and special. I feel special."
The awards are being presented by 'Saturday Night Live' star Kenan Thompson, who arrived at the event with Kel Mitchell, his former comedic partner on the show 'Kenan and Kel'.
After appearing together on 'Saturday Night Live', the pair are now planning on teaming up again.
Thompson said, "It's the best like you know, all our time working together was such an honor and a pleasure and our journeys since then have been like individualized and now it's nice to be able to like go and kind of rekindle that love for people seeing us together, do you know what I mean?"
Other celebrities on the carpet included Ellen Pompeo, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Carrie Underwood, Sarah Hyland, Olivia Wilde, Heidi Klum, and Billy Porter.
