- Story Text:Family members and relatives of victims who died in suspected militant attacks in India's Kashmir, performed the last rites of the deceased in the hill town of Rajouri on Tuesday (January 03).
The militant attack took place on Sunday (January 01) where at least 10 were injured, out of whom four died.
Following Sunday's attack, security personnel were investigating a residential neighbourhood when a blast took place injuring seven people and killing a child on Monday.
"We all will unite to fight this attack. There should also be an inquiry to find out why and how the security system of the place failed," said a local who was attending the last rites of the six people who died in the attack and a subsequent blast.
Hundreds crowded the cremation grounds and relatives of the victims were seen crying to mourn their loss.
Kashmir is claimed in full by both India and arch-rival Pakistan, although both nuclear-armed neighbours only control parts of the region.
New Delhi has long accused Pakistan of backing armed militants, along with separatist groups in India's portion of the region.
Islamabad denies the Indian accusation, saying it provides only diplomatic and moral support to the separatist movement. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
