- Story Text: Cricket fans thronged the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in India's western Pune city to cheer for their country as they locked horns with Sri Lanka for the second Twenty20 match of the three-match series, on Thursday (January 05).
Donning Indian jerseys and colourful wigs, Indian fans were seen entering the stadium in huge numbers.
"I am guessing India will score more than 190 if they bat first and if they chase, the match will be over in 16-17 overs," said a fan who added that India's stand-in-captain, Hardik Pandya is his favourite player.
Hardik Pandya will captain India for their Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka in the absence of Rohit Sharma, who will return for the following one-day internationals.
India is leading the series with a 1-0 lead against Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka will go up in their final Twenty 20 against host India on January 07 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in western Rajkot city.
India will host Sri Lanka for three ODIs from January 10, with Pandya reprising his role as T20 captain for a second straight series, after leading India to victory over New Zealand in November. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
